So I consider myself a lower end 'advanced' rider and I checked out some reviews on this board before purchase. Those reviews flagged this as an advanced to expert board and i would definitely opine that its not for beginners or lower end intermediate. Its a very aggressive board and I felt it preformed best at high speeds. Felt very stable and never felt like I had taken it too far, no wipeouts but I didn't take it to a park, just resort riding. I didn't find that it rudders very easily for speed control so unless you're putting a lot of muscle into your back foot your best speed control will be your turns. If you're higher level intermediate I think its not a bad purchase as its not a completely unforgiving board, and gives you something to aspire to control and incentivize growth.
I usually start my days on my Ravine then after lunch when more folks have left the slopes I switch to the Rene-Gade so I have more room to experiment and can increase speeds. I really like this board and am very happy I made the purchase. Oh, and the artwork this year is killer, I really love the top sheet and base, just adds to the high performance.
Alright. I'll state my case. 41 year old life time shredder. Multiple 100 day seasons in western canada. Took 15 years off of resort shredding and sole focused on split boarding. This year I wanted to get back into resort riding. I tried a few other boards but they didn't land...until I found this thing. This is the stiff, snappy, precise, hard charging and stable shred machine I needed. First day at Lake Louise 40cm pow and this thing owned the mountain. Then, no pow the next week, guess what, absolutely aggressive all mountain ripper. When you can handle a board like this, no other bells and whistles are needed. Certainly a strong advanced rider can steer this bad boy. But if you don't have your edge control dialled you'll get bucked around on this thing. It's not as stiff as you'd think but still pro level stiffness. This board is for the true experienced hard charger.

Im 90kg, 170 tall witj 43eu boot size. I was helped to get the perfect size (153) for my needs. In the rails you just lock in.
This thing GOES. This is an insane cambered rocket ship of a board. Big fan, love Rene , love this board.

The Renegade rides well, and it's been my go-to board for the past two seasons. Super fun, poppy, and the 157w is decent for powder days too. Both seasons ended in warranty claims, however, as the topsheets wrinkled and bubbled under bindings and near the hotrods in the tip and tail. That said, it took an average of 30 days on hill for that to happen--more than a season for most people.
