WHO THE HELL ARE YOU AND WHAT MAKES YOU TICK?
Madison here, aka, Mads. Turning edge since I was 8 years old. Big fan of dogs, mimosas, pow days, nice downrails and lots of airtime. Not into reverts and pickles.
WHICH FOOT DO YOU STRAP IN FIRST?
Mostly left but I confuse myself at times
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE SNOWBOARD MEMORY? IT CAN BE ANYTHING; FIRST STREET RAIL, BEST TRIP WITH THE HOMIES, WATCHING A SESSION GO DOWN...
My most iconic memory was this past season when I was lucky enough to snag an invite to King and Queen of Corbet's Couloir. That thing is massive and my mind was blown I was even considered. The experience as a whole was insane and to be able to witness first-hand the crazy shit skiers and boarders do into that. Although I did not do the leap of faith, just being able to ride the couloir and surviving my whole run while the world was watching was the best feeling, knowing that I might never go into it again.
WOULD YOU RATHER: HAND-DIG A QUARTER PIPE, BUILD A LOG JIB OR SHAPE A BANKED SLALOM COURSE?
Quarter pipe! It’s always a treat to ride a nice qp, and they always seem hard to come by.
IN YOUR OPINION, WHOSE STYLE HAS INFLUENCED YOU THE MOST AND HOW?
My inspiration changes year by year, from Barrett Christy, Hana Beaman and Robin Van Gyn to currently Zoi Synnott and Hailey Langland. I look at a lot of backcountry and slope riders because I respect the idea of being able to only have one chance to put a line together or land first try when it truly matters most.
IF YOU COULD GO BACK TO ANY SESSION, ANY FEATURE, ANY DAY ON SNOW AND JUST TELEPORT THERE TO SHRED, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?
Even though it's my home mountain, the best days of my life on my board have been on 4 ft pow days at Brighton Resort. There’s nothing like lapping the Milly lift and just sending it off 30 ft cliffs over and over for 8 hours. It never gets old.
