Watching a snowboard video is rad, but there is something extra special about going to a video premiere. We premiered our newest team video 'Particle' on October 18 with the help our our friends at the Wallflower Collective in Burlington, VT.

A healthy dose of espresso martinis were flowing to keep the crew energized for the night.
As if scoring a fully original soundtrack for the video wasn't impressive enough, Burlington-based noise rock band Greaseface would also be performing the soundtrack live as the video played beside them. Did they really have to do that for the premiere? No. But ask anyone who was there and you'll be quick to hear that the live score made the night truly unforgettable.
Max Lyons released a zine chronicling a year on the road following the riders in Particle. He also hung photos from the season including specially made art by tattooerNick Meerburgand Rome designerPortia Wassick.

As the doors opened for the evening the venue almost immediately hit capacity. Team riders and VT locals Joey Leon, Casey Savage, and Noah Coville were in attendance to get a first look at themselves in the video. Drake Warner even made the 14 hour trek from Michigan with his parents to catch the premiere. This turned out to be a good move as he wound up with ender. Not to spoil too much: the crew had to repair the spot mid battle and Drake ended up lacing an insanely burly kink rail.

After a few hours of mingling, catching up with the homies, riders signing zines, and some cold beers it was time for the main event. A quick introduction from producer Ben Morse and filmer/editor Devin Bernard (which could hardly be heard thanks to roaring cheers for Dev) was quickly followed by feedback from the Greaseface amps and it was go time.

A hush fell over the crowd as the first notes were played live and a peculiar contraption loaded with 16mm film flashed on screen. A slow build up crescendoed when a cinematic long lens follow cam of a Casey Savage line finished up right as the drums came in (thank god Greaseface nailed the timing on that one live!). The crowd erupted and never quieted down.

Choruses of cheering for stomped tricks, loud 'oofs' for bails, and thunderous applause every time a new rider was introduced on screen: the energy levels were high to say the least. This was further enforced by the sounds only a live band can give you.
While we could give you a play-by-play of everyone's tricks in the video, you should probably justwatch Particle for yourself. All you need to know is that there was a lot of hootin' and hollerin' for the riders. As Drake rode away from the final trick and the credits started to roll: a deafening roar could be heard blocks away. Greaseface immediately went into a set to keep the good times rolling.
Things get a bit hazy from there which is always the sign of a successful night. When all was said and done and bar tabs were paid, that was one hell of a premiere. If you weren't able to make it out to join us you can watch Particle below.
